Door of Hope is calling all RSD/CRPS Warriors & Heroes to join us at Glasgow Regional Park for our Door of Hope Breaks Open the Silence on CRPS: Join Door of Hope/RSDSA for a CRPS Awareness Event on Sat. June 1st at Regional Glasgow Park, Newark, DE. This is an awareness event for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome – a hidden disease that affects individuals affected by complex regional pain syndrome formerly known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD/CRPS).
The reason to raise awareness is: My name is Linda; I am the facilitator of Door of Hope Support Group. I have had CRPS for over 9 painful years. As an adult, my chances of remission are slim, but the chances for the younger Warriors are great. I would do anything to fund a cure, especially for our youngest CRPS Warrior, Leanna, whose walk with CRPS started a few days before her 19th birthday. Now 20, Leanna feels her life is over. She had to give up her dream of becoming a nurse. We can help Leanna follow her dream. We want to raise funds to help all the young CRPS warriors whose dreams are just a painful memory.
This is a community building/raise awareness event and a fundraiser, a “Door of Open Breaks Open the Silence” will donate the monies raised to send 58 children with CRPS/RDS and their families to a fully handicapable camp.
Come Out to the Park! It will be a FUNTASTIC day!
Parents, children, grandparents, and even four-legged friends are welcome. There will be face painting, refreshments, exhibits and plenty of raffles.
Our overall mission is to find a Cure, and/or improved treatments for this extremely painful and crippling disease. In addition, to supporting the “Courageous Kids Camp,” Community support is greatly needed to help us raise funds. We want to fund medical research to help those suffering from this rare and painful disease.
